DELTATEST 
Törnbloms Kvalitetskontroll (TK), is a company specialized in
crack detecting.
TK has many years experience of "eddy
current", EC.
Products developed by TK are marketed
under the brand name DELTATEST.
TK's EC-technics is
unique and refined to increase the performance.
The new
generation DELTATEST system, is an advanced on-line crack
detection system including a unique eddy current measuring
equipment. The emphasis has been given on the evaluation of
the measuring signal directly at the source, instead of subsequent
computerized signal evaluation.

The DELTATEST-measuring system was originally
developed for detecting surface defects in
hot (>800 °C), continuously-cast slabs,
on line, in steelworks.
DELTATEST can exhibit more than 10.000 hours operation
experience, of detecting surface cracks in hot slabs,
during the actual casting operation.
During these
tests availability of the measuring systems was 100% !
The
system is based on a robust sensor unit, and the entire
measurment procedure is performed without contact with
the hot slabs surface.
Both longitudinal and transversal
cracks are detected.
With the goal to increase the suitable applications and offer
the market equipment with higher performance, TK started the
development of a new measuring device based on eddy current
in 1997.
Prototypes are availible for demonstration at TK.
Testresults are found under the subtitle "performance".
The new generation DELTATEST, is developed for crack detection
on both flat and round/curved surfaces at a working temperature
of 0° to > 1000°C on both magnetic and non magnetic
material.
The new patented eddy current technique used in D
eltatest differs substantially from conventional technique.

The performance of the new generation Deltatest
is radically increased compared to previous techniques.
During the development such progress were made,
that it is considered to be a technical break through .
Now the possibility to detect very small cracks on both
cold and hot materials (>Curie temp) has become much
greater.
Increased performance by more than ten times
has made all the former patents owned by TK out of date.
This significant improvement is based on three different
inventions.
At the same time the field of application is
widend to include more or less all applications where crack
detecting is necessary.
